Project Overview
The aim of the project was to identify and investigate gaps for the financing of so-called “green Power-to-X” (PtX) projects in non-OECD countries. To begin with, the financing requirements of PtX project in non-OECD countries was assessed, including investments in wind, PV, CSP and hydropower plants with respect to i) typical investment needs, ii) equity requirements, ii) cash flows in local currency as well as in EUR, iv) long- term nature of the financing. Practical experiences of developers, DFIs and commercial banks working on those projects were also collected through interviews across several regions to distinguish the barriers and success factors for the financing of Ptx projects. The finfings were summarised in the form of a report.
