The main goal of the project was to support the development of a methodological approach which links existing activity-level monitoring of sustainable development impacts to national-level sustainable development considerations, with the intention that this is used to modify Gold Standard’s existing SDG Impact Tool. It is intended that this methodological approach shall be published for transparency and for the benefit of other actors especially in the context of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
Perspectives’ work supported Gold Standard in updating its existing Sustainable Development Impact Tool. The scope of Perspectives’ work was grouped into three tasks: Task 1 consisted of the development of a concept note for methodology development and included mapping of existing guidance documents for national assessment of SDGs, and assesment of the adaptation impacts of mitigation actions. Task 2 consisted of the development of a methodological approach and integration into Gold Standard SDG Impact Tool that supports the implementation of Article 6 activities and is linked to Nationally Determined Contributions, long-term emissions development strategies, National Adaptation Plans, and national sustainable development strategies. Task 3 was related to the integration of new components into the modified Gold Standard SDG Impact Tool.
