Rocio Rodriguez is an Industrial Engineer with a postgraduate diploma in Environmental Engineering, a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy, and an Interdisciplinary Energy Master’s. With over 20 years of experience at the intersection of climate change, energy transitions, and carbon markets, she brings a unique combination of technical depth and commercial expertise to her work at Perspectives.
Throughout her career, she has developed both technical and commercial expertise across the private and public sectors in Latin America. At MGM International, she served as Project Manager and Senior Technical Consultant, leading the design and execution of emission reduction projects mainly in the energy sector and carbon offset solutions. She has extensive experience conducting feasibility studies, GHG inventories, and providing technical support for carbon credit commercialization and the management of emission reduction projects across the region. In the public sector, she served as Energy and Climate Change Coordinator, leading the development of policies, programs, and studies related to inventories, energy efficiency, renewable energy, bioenergy, and low-carbon technologies such as hydrogen and carbon capture, as well as climate energy transition, climate finance, and carbon pricing.
Rocío is passionate about driving climate ambition into action, shaping and leading high-impact carbon market strategies that bridge technical expertise and innovative thinking to enable clients to navigate carbon markets and mobilize climate finance.
Having developed commercial expertise throughout her career, most recently as Latin America Business Development Manager at Enking International (eki), a leading Indian developer and supplier of carbon credit and offset solutions, she was responsible for driving the company’s growth in the region, identifying new clients and business opportunities, preparing and presenting commercial proposals, negotiating ERPAs, overseeing carbon asset management, and providing technical support to projects in the region. Now at Perspectives, she combines her deep technical knowledge with her commercial expertise to support clients across the private sector, governments, and multilateral organizations in navigating, designing, and implementing smart carbon market solutions and climate policies that drive real climate action and mobilize finance across Latin America and beyond.
