Ashwin holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Technology with a specialisation in energy policies from TU Delft. He has experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, sustainable cooling and energy efficiency by working in various organizations, from government to NGO, consultancy and UNDP. As a project engineer at the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, he played a key role in designing and revamping energy policies for seven appliances, with a major focus on cooling equipment such as chillers, air conditioners, and refrigerators. He provided support in developing India’s Cooling Action Plan. At UNDP, he worked as an energy consultant, assisting in the development of national cooling action plans for Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Ashwin brings a wealth of experience in sustainable cooling, project management and energy efficiency to effectively support and manage projects related to mitigation and carbon market.
At Perspectives, he is currently involved in supporting sustainable cooling, methodology development and carbon market projects. He managed projects related to Bahrain’s policy analysis to achieve net zero, MEPS development for Ethiopia and the development of climate co-benefits methodology for circular economy and urban forestry policies of India. Additionally, he supported in the development of methodology for mitigation benefits from sustainable milk cooling in Ethiopia, conducting plausibility checks for climate finance proposals and supported in designing national green cooling plan for Vietnam.
