Chido Muzondo is an international specialist in climate policy, governance, and energy transitions, with over nine years of experience in energy transitions, UNFCCC climate negotiations and climate diplomacy. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford and undergraduate degrees in Environmental and Geographical Science and Social Anthropology from the University of Cape Town. Her experience includes advisory and strategic roles with the COP28 Presidency, the International Institute for Sustainable Development, and the G20 Energy Transitions Working Group under South Africa’s Presidency. At Perspectives Climate Group, she leads work on climate negotiations and diplomacy, as well as energy transitions.
Chido leads Perspectives’ work on Climate Negotiations, Diplomacy, and Just Energy Transitions, advising governments and international partners on advancing equitable, ambitious climate action under the UNFCCC and G20 processes.
She has designed and delivered capacity-building programmes for national climate negotiators, supported the development of just transition and energy policy frameworks, and contributed to multilateral processes under the UNFCCC and G20. Her work has included advising on Viet Nam’s Just Energy Transition Partnership Resource Mobilisation Plan, developing negotiation strategies for the New Collective Quantified Goal on Climate Finance, and supporting policy dialogues on fossil fuel subsidy reform. Chido also contributes to Perspectives’ work on climate finance, energy governance, and inclusive transition pathways, strengthening alignment between national priorities and global climate objectives.
