Florian Schmitt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration & Management from the University of Applied Sciences Wuerzburg. In 2021, he graduated with a Master of Science in Sustainability Sciences from the University of Kassel, specialising in environmental science, resource economics and energy economics. Furthermore, he has developed expertise as a researcher at Fraunhofer ISE in the technical, economic, and environmental assessment of the production and transport of hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels as well as expertise in nature-based and technological carbon removal, including their co-benefits.
Florian is an expert in methodology development for the voluntary carbon market in projects related to carbon dioxide removal (CDR), hydrogen and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
He has extensive experience in GHG accounting and other environmental and social factors. In addition, he provides advice on technical aspects and supports the stakeholder management of the CCS+ initiative. Florian speaks German, English, and Spanish fluently.
