Selina Schuler completed a Magister in Philosophy, Anthropology, and Psychoanalysis at Goethe University Frankfurt in 2017, with a thesis on social ontology and the philosophy of money. From 2017 to 2019, she worked in academic publishing, before joining an IT consultancy as a UX designer and user researcher from 2019 to 2022. From 2022 to 2024, she supported the recovery effort following the 2021 Ahr valley floods with a humanitarian organisation. Selina joined Perspectives in September 2024 as Financial Project Coordinator for grant-funded projects and took on the role of Head of Finance & Digitalisation, in tandem with Angela Kern, at the start of 2025.
Selina's work on the recovery from the 2021 Ahr valley floods shaped her decision to move from humanitarian response to climate consultancy, putting financial and digital expertise to work on the prevention side.
What motivates Selina is a conviction that ambitious climate work depends as much on what happens behind the scenes — financial integrity, reliable data, systems that work — as on the policy and research in the foreground. She approaches her role as quiet enablement, drawing on her UX background to put the people who use the systems at the centre of how they are designed.
