Sergi Cuadrat is a Chemical Engineer with a Master’s in Renewable Energies who has been active in international climate policy and carbon markets for more than 20 years. In 2005, he joined Ecomethane (a joint venture between Biogas Technology Ltd. and Ecosecurities) as Carbon Credits Process Manager, where he led the implementation of some of the first mitigation projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol. From 2008 to 2011, he served as Head of Carbon Operation and Verifications at Zeroemissions (Abengoa), pioneering early MRV systems in the carbon market. In 2011, he founded ClimaLoop, delivering advisory services to the World Bank and serving on the UNFCCC roster of CDM Methodologies. Recognised with the Climate Champion Award by the Europe’s Green Business Network in 2015, he was later named a Change Facilitator for Sustainable Development by Green Cross UK in 2022. From 2017 to early 2025, Sergi held several senior leadership roles at ALLCOT Group, including CTO, COO, Managing Director, and Vice President of Climate Action, where he formulated and executed a visionary strategic framework on Article 6 operationalisation.
Sergi is passionate about leading teams to shape high-impact carbon market strategies by bridging policy, finance and implementation to advance climate action through transparent, equitable and cooperative solutions in the Global South.
In his career, Sergi has facilitated the development of more than hundred climate change mitigation projects through both technological solutions (e.g., waste management, renewable energy,…) and nature-based approaches (e.g., ecosystem protection and restoration) across the Global South. He has a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in operationalizing carbon market frameworks under the Paris Agreement (Article 6), Kyoto Protocol (CDM) and the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCS, GS,…). Furthermore, he offers a strong track record in developing GHG methodologies, policy advisory and climate finance mechanisms to accelerate the Net Zero transition while ensuring environmental integrity, innovation and sustainable impact.
