Sherri Ombuya holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and a B.S. in Environmental Science from Kenyatta University, Kenya. Before joining Perspectives, Sherri was involved in research and capacity-building projects aimed at progressing adaptation action and building resilience in Eastern Africa. In 2018, Sherri was involved in the reshaping efforts of the World Adaptation Science Programme at UNEP, which seeks to ensure evidence-based policies, solutions, and actions for successful adaptation.
At Perspectives, Sherri conducts research and advisory projects on climate adaptation, climate finance, export finance, and loss and damage.
Sherri has been involved in several projects and studies that include identifying adaptation strategies to climate change, monitoring and evaluating adaptation, identifying financial instruments and response tools for loss and damage, climate finance and the alignment of export finance with climate and sustainable development goals. She is fluent in English and Swahili.
