The main goal of the project was to support at developing climate co-benefit methodologies in the focus areas of Circular Economy/ Resource Efficiency and Biodiversity/Forests in India. It was also aligned with achievement of India’s National Determined Contributions (NDC). This Project was oragnised in 6 different phases,startting from Inception Phase,Development Phase,Testing Phase,Embedding Phase,Capacity Building and Project Close-Down phase.
“Perspectives was performing this project in close collaboration with implementing partners such as Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) and Oxford Policy Management Europe GmbH (OPEM). PCG was primarily tasked with bringing in-depth expertise in climate co-benefits and mitigation strategies to the project. PCG worked closely with the Team Lead and other experts, especially during the development, testing, and embedding phases. The specific tasks PCG carried out were: ● Contributed to the inception meeting, worked on developing and finalising the methodology for this study. ● Reviewed and provided feedback on documents shared by GIZ. ● Collaborated on the development of assessment frameworks for climate co-benefits. ● Contributed to the literature review and scoping studies. ● Provided expertise on mitigation strategies and their feasibility. ● Leaded the development of mitigation-specific methodologies across WP 4 & 5 ● Reviewed and refined sector-specific methodological tools. ● Collaborated on the pilot testing of methodologies. ● Provided guidance on integrating mitigation strategies into roadmaps and sector guidelines. ● Ensured the methodologies align with global mitigation standards ● Contributed to the analysis of existing training programs related to mitigation. ● Provided expertise on the content of training materials, focusing on mitigation aspects. ● Reviewed MOOC content for its relevance to mitigation strategies. ● Provided final feedback and review of the project’s mitigation strategies. ● Contributed to the final consultations.
