Main project features:
The project quantifies the economic and social benefits of three selected climate change adaptation projects in Africa and Asia, building on Perspectives’ “Saved-wealth, saved-health approach” and provides the client with the respective tools for quantification.
Project Overview
The project aims at supporting REEEP with exploring approaches to monitor and evaluate the positive impacts of selected projects in economic, environmental and social terms. In this context, REEEP is provided with an understanding of the established saved wealth-saved health concept for the assessment of three energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in the area of food processing, irrigation and agriculture in Africa and Asia. The methodology is adjusted to the specific circumstances of the target projects, including the calculation of baselines and definition of methodological boundaries. Coordination with the Gold Standard Foundation ensures that the approach aligns with current GS 3.0 specifications. Finally, tools for the calculation of social and economic benefits are delivered, together with recommendations on the use of the methodology and further improvement of the chosen approach.
