Main project features:
The project aimed to provide a comprehensive review of the current state of knowledge about Export Credit Agencies’ (ECAs’) internal climate change policies, as well as external public policies – e.g. those recently introduced by the OECD regarding coal investments that may impact ECAs’ operations with regards to their support for fossil fuels – against the objectives of the Paris Agreement. The study covered ECAs in seven countries (Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, the Netherlands, the UK, Sweden) and evaluated the compatibility of their policies with the Paris Agreement.
Project Overview
Perspectives carried out the following tasks:● review of the existing climate change policies and commitments of ECAs (Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Sweden, the UK, the Netherlands) and their assessment against the objectives of the Paris Agreement.● review of external policies – e.g. introduced by the OECD and/or other national and international policies – that can affect ECAs’ support for fossil fuels.● providing a summary of the key findings of the study and policy recommendations.
