Adaptation Strategies

Climate change impacts are increasing across the globe. Making our societies and ecosystems more resilient to those impacts is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, yet adaptation efforts are being implemented too slowly. At Perspectives, we strengthen adaptation action by developing innovative approaches for fostering impactful activities on the ground and scaling up adaptation finance.

Adaptation & Resilience MEL adaptation finance
The 60-second briefing

Perspectives pioneered the work on adaptation metrics back in 2012, with the Saved-Health Saved-Wealth approach for comparing the outcomes of different adaptation options. Since then we have built a wide range of services to support robust adaptation action: metrics and methodologies for assessing adaptation benefits, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, adaptation policy instruments, and project evaluation across multiple sectors. We also assess and support the design of adaptation finance mechanisms tailored to specific climate risks.

Adaptation to climate change

National Adaptation Plans, vulnerability and risk assessment, adaptation metrics, loss and damage, and adaptation finance access. We have worked on adaptation for more than 15 years. We focus on how action builds resilience and reduces vulnerability, because demonstrating impact is what mobilises new and additional adaptation finance.

In 2012 we pioneered the Saved-Health Saved-Wealth approach, a methodology for quantifying the health and economic benefits of adaptation interventions. We continue to develop the metrics, MEL frameworks and climate-risk tools that make resilience measurable and fundable.
