Kaja is a versatile climate policy consultant focusing on technical support for Article 6 readiness and climate negotiations. As a technical expert focusing on Article 6 readiness, she works with organisations such as the West African Alliance on Carbon Markets and Climate Finance. In her expert capacity, she leads carbon market readiness assessments, and technical training, and provides advice on Article 6 operationalisation. She also supports the development of Article 6 activities.
Kaja is passionate about fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the diverse projects she is dedicated to and within Perspectives.
She has worked on the design and implementation of carbon pricing instruments in several countries, evaluating options for Article 6 pilot activities in urban areas in Thailand and Indonesia (2021-2023, IKI), analysing potential carbon finance flows for a policy approach under Article 6 in Morocco (GGGI, 2023) or identifying possibilities for the use of carbon market mechanisms in the context of the Tunisian NDC and Low-Carbon Development Strategy (2019-20, GIZ). Since 2016, Kaja has been an observer of the climate change negotiations under the UNFCCC and developed negotiation analysis and guidebooks, particularly related to Article 6 and transparency negotiation streams. Additionally, Kaja works on consultancy and research projects in broader realms of climate policy and diplomacy. Kaja holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg and completed her B.A. in Applied Political Science at the University of Freiburg and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Aix-en-Provence.
