Matthias Poralla holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Public Administration and Economics from the University of Potsdam. During his academic education, he worked on international climate governance and issues evolving around geoengineering. Before joining Perspectives, he worked as a Student and Management Assistant at Deutsches Klima-Konsortium (DKK) and as a Project Associate and Policy Advisor for Energy and Climate Change Policies at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES).
Matthias has been working on Carbon Dioxide Removals and corresponding net-zero mitigation policy planning for many years.
At Perspectives, Matthias is involved in a number of projects for both public and private clients developing net-zero mitigation policy strategies including Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Carbon Dioxide Removals (CDR). He is also supporting the work of the CCS+ Initiative as part of its Secretariat and policy team. In addition, Matthias is working on societal and governance-related aspects of Solar Radiation Modification (SRM).
