Matthias Poralla holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and a BA in Politics, Public Administration and Economics from the University of Potsdam. During his academic education, he worked on international climate governance and issues evolving around geoengineering. Before joining Perspectives, he worked as a Student and Management Assistant at Deutsches Klima-Konsortium (DKK) and as a Project Associate and Policy Advisor for Energy and Climate Change Policies at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES).
Matthias has been working on Carbon Dioxide Removals and corresponding net-zero mitigation policy planning for many years.
At Perspectives, Matthias is involved in a number of projects for both public and private clients developing net-zero mitigation policy strategies including Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Carbon Dioxide Removals (CDR). He is also supporting the work of the CCS+ Initiative as part of its Secretariat and policy team. In addition, Matthias is working on societal and governance-related aspects of Solar Radiation Modification (SRM).
