CCS Regulatory Framework project (and possible CCU) in the Nordic countries

The project analysed legal aspects of CCS and BECCS development and deployment that are of relevance for the Nordic context, to promote and expand their use in the repective countries. The project analysed legal aspects of CCS and BECCS development and deployment that are of relevance for the Nordic context. Specifically, research revolved around possibilities to promote CCS and/or BECCS as well as well as possible ways to cooperate and interact between Nordic countries to progress on CCS. Moreover, differences in CCS regulations among Nordic countries were examined. Additionally, the project examined the division of responsibility between private and state actors for CCS. For BECCS, a particular focus was placed on the topic of monitoring, reporting and verification of BECCS mitigation outcomes on a Nordic level. Perspectives was particularly involved in the preparation and organisation of interviews with Finnish stakeholders as well as in the preparation of Finnish outputs.
