Blueprint for Article 6 Readiness in member countries of the West African Alliance

As technical partners of the West African Alliance on Carbon Markets and Climate Finance, Perspectives Climate Group together with Climate Focus has developed an Article 6 Readiness support Blueprint with support from the Alliance Secretariat and the coordinator. It explains the requirements of the UNFCCC Article 6 rulebook in an implementation-oriented manner along with four Article 6 readiness building blocks: NDC alignment, Article 6 policy, institutional framework, and reporting/tracking. The Blueprint will support member countries in mapping stakeholders, understanding and addressing capacity and technical needs for the development of an Article 6 strategy. Using the Blueprint as capacity resource, countries’ can plan and adapt their Article 6 groundworks to national contexts and priorities.
