Main project features:

The objective of the assignment was to support the elaboration and formulation of complete NSP outlines, including the support to elaborate all necessary annexes, in collaboration with GIZ. NSP projects aim to support the implementation of mitigation measures to reduce GHG emissions in selected countries and sectors. With the support of this project, four NSPs were developed, and three NSPs were successfully submitted to The Ambition Initiative – Round Two call. The mitigation measures involved in theses NSPs were i) promoting biogas energy applications, ii) energy efficieny measures in the commercial sector, iii) electrification of public transport, iv) promoting a circular economy in waste management.

Project Overview

In collaboration with the greenwerk, Perspectives undertook the following tasks in the development of four NSPs:● Review of the drafted NSPs outlines and Annexes;● Guide GIZ local teams in methods to improve the outlines and to ensure the Annexes (in particular Annex 2, 5, and 6) were in accordance to NAMA facility guidelines;● Collaborate with other consultants to ensure incomplete / not yet drafted Annexes are prepared;● Undertake final quality checks on the outlines and annexes to ensure the NSPs were at a reasonable standard before submission;● Provide feedback on methods to improve the consultancy approach to support the development of NSPs to maximize the number of proposals from GIZ that the NAMA Facility approves for implementation.
