Ximena holds a double master’s degree in natural resources management from the University of Cologne, Germany and UASLP, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Before joining Perspectives, she worked on GHG mitigation issues at the Andean Development Corporation (CAF) supporting the Regional Collaboration Center for Latin America in monitoring and advising on Clean Development Mechanism projects.
She also worked as a specialised professional in the mitigation group of the Climate Change Directorate of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia supporting topics related to carbon markets, clean development mechanisms, and national MRV.
Additionally, she worked as a technical consultant for the project “Green Recovery in Latin American Countries in Post-pandemic Context” and as a mitigation expert on the project “Formulation of the Climate Change Strategy” for the holding “Grupo Empresarial Argos”. At Perspectives, Ximena works on matters related to carbon market mechanisms and Article 6.
