Main project features:
The Kingdom of Bahrain aimed to develop and implement a long-term climate strategy (LTS) to effectively achieve its climate targets. This LTS served as a roadmap for addressing climate change and was accompanied by the design and implementation of a Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system. The main goal of this project was to develop a comprehensive Gaps and Needs Analysis, resulting in concrete recommendations for the development of an LTS as well as of an MRV system.
Project Overview
Under this project, Perspectives took the lead in conducting policy analysis to develop a report on gaps and needs analysis in collaboration with GIZ and Ricardo. Perspectives provided support to Ricardo in stocktaking missions, reviewing emissions projection models, assessing climate vulnerabilities and risks, evaluating MRV systems, and analyzing governance arrangements. Perspectives also supported stakeholder engagement with various public and private stakeholders to gather inputs on Bahrain’s climate change policies.
