Ms. Peris Waweru, Junior consultant at Perspectives, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg, Germany. She has professional experience in activities relating to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, the transition from the Clean Development Mechanism and Voluntary Carbon Markets as well as extensive involvement in the development of waste management policies and circular economy action plans. She also works on projects related to nature-based solutions, low emission development strategies and energy access in Africa.

At Perspectives Peris manages projects that relate to the Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, Voluntary Carbon Markets, and energy access in Africa, in additon to providing support to national governments towards the acheivement of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

She has extensive experience in devloping carbon methodologies as well as supporting both public and private sector actors in developng ambitious climate policies. Peris also actively engages with development agencies, national government officials and other key stakeholders in conferences and workshops to influence how environmental policies are developed and implemented in Africa. Peris worked in various non-profit and non-governmental organizations in East Africa and Germany focused on sustainable development.
