Report · Perspectives Climate Group · 2024

This publication delves into the core carbon principles (CCPs) and the assessment framework (AF) established by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM). The comprehensive study, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany (BMWK) and conducted by Perspectives Climate Group, aims to enlighten carbon market stakeholders on the ICVCM's efforts to ensure credit quality and supply-side integrity. It explores the strengths and weaknesses of the AF and examines the CCP-eligibility of various carbon crediting programmes and activity types. Additionally, the study evaluates how well the CCPs and AF currently align with the requirements of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
