The objective of the assignment was to (i) identify and match existing needs and competences on Article 6 within the NDCP network, and (ii) to provide a tool and training to the NDCP, in particular country engagement teams and facilitators, to support member countries in developing high-quality support requests related to Article 6 readiness.
Perspectives identified relevant requests for support. This inlcuded relevant NDCP requests for support need to be identified. PCR also filtered the kNook database based on a list of (combinations of) keywords that is coordinated with the NDCP. PCR co-organized a virtual Thematic Partner Discussion (TPD) of two hours on Article 6 with the NDCP. PCR led the thematic preparation, implementation, and follow-up for the workshop in close coordination with the NDCP and taking into account experiences from the first TPD organized by the NDCP on Blue Carbon. PCR developed a framework for Article 6 operationalization and outline for the Diagnostic Toolkit. The “Framework for Article 6 operationalization” will be the foundation for the diagnostic toolkit, as it explains the definitions applied, as well as the elements of Article 6 readiness.
