The main goal was to support the negotiations scientifically in order to better understand and evaluate the role and potential of Article 6.8. Furthermore, it should discuss how the framework and Work Programme can be designed as a meaningful addition to market-based approaches.
Project Overview
Perspectives was requested to provide scientific support to the negotiations surrounding Article 6.8.• Description and discussion of the progress of negotiations regarding Article 6.8• Expert discussion regarding the German negotiating position• Evaluation of the negotiations of COP25/SBSTA51• Developing proposals for the design of the Working Programme and respective instruments• Participation in international discussions aming at the design of Article 6.8• Embedding Article 6.8 and its design within the Paris framework• Presentation and discussion of provisional results in a workshop
