Main project features:

The main goal of the project is to provide technical support to the NAMA Facility Technical Support Unit (TSU) in assessing the plausibility of the mitigationfigures communicated by NAMA Support Projects (NSPs) in all stages of the NAMA Facility incl. Outlines, Detailed Preparation Phase, Proposals, Monitoring and Evaluation and Annual Reports. The main sectors covered by these NSPs are transport, agriculture and forestry, renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste and waste management and urban development.

Project Overview

The specific tasks Perspectives carries out are:• managing and coordinating the whole pool of experts (13 international experts)• review and elaboration of templates provided by the NAMA Facility for mitigation context (e.g. revision of template Annex 7 for Proposal submissions).• assessing the plausibility of the mitigationfigures communicated by NAMA Support Projects (NSPs) in all stages of the NAMA Facility incl. Outlines, Detailed Preparation Phase, Proposals, Monitoring and Evaluation and Annual Reports.• assessment of the outlines and proposals for mitigation figures and calculations• provideing feedback to NSP developers and implementers and strengthen their capacities• assessment, questioning and, if necessary, correcting mitigation figures in reporting (e.g.Monitoring and Evaluation Reports and Annual Reports).• documentation of their findings in a standard sheet / form• making recommendations on how to improve the plausibility of the mitigation figures• assessing the verifiability of the mitigation figures: assess the suggested monitoringsystem and determine if it will deliver all the data needed with sufficient reliability andquality, temporal and spatial resolution, etc.• conducting training and capacity building for NAMA Facility staff on mitigation related aspects
