The main goal of the project was to support the European Commissions’ Directorate-General for Research & Innovation (DG RTD) with the “Study on a long-term research and innovation agenda towards 2050 climate neutrality”.
Project Overview
Perspectives was performing the work in close cooperation with experts from the ICF, Fraunhofer ISI, Cleantech Group and Cambridge Econometrics. The specific tasks carried out were:● Task 4: In-depth analysis of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) approaches R&I Intervention Areas. The overall objective of Task 4 was to outline a detailed description of currently discussed negative emissions technologies (NETs; or carbon dioxide removal, CDR) both technological and non-technological (e.g. land-use related). The tasks adopted a 3-step approach to review: (1) the status of these technologies; (2) their growth pathways and obstacles; and, (3) the outlook and action points for their development.
