The Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism (PACM), established under Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement, is an emerging supply source of authorised Article 6 credits. This new guidance:

• clarifies the critical distinction between Article 6.4 activity approval and credit authorisation
• explains the different types of Article 6.4 credits and authorisation statements, and
• provides practical insights on how countries can align authorisation decisions with their Nationally Determined Contributions while avoiding overselling.
