This scoping study explores the potential for the development and implementation of the Adaptation Benefit Mechanism (ABM) under Art. 6.8 of the Paris Agreement in Ethiopia. Spear-headed by the African Development Bank and several African countries, the ABM is an emerging “non-market mechanism” that could mobilize urgently needed resources for adaptation projects in developing countries.
