As a Small Island Developing State native, Perspectives gives me the opportunity to have a more significant impact on the global challenge of addressing the climate emergency.

Christian Fleischer holds an industrial engineering degree in energy and environmental management from the Europa-Universität Flensburg. Before joining Perspectives, Christian worked as a research fellow at the Europa-Universität Flensburg and undertook collaborative research with institutions such as Chalmers University of Technology, ETH Zürich and Stakraft Norway. Christian is pursuing a PhD with a research focus on energy system transition pathways and open-source modelling.

At Perspectives, Christian is working on designing and implementing international climate policy instruments in our business area of Carbon Market Design.

In addition to his research skills obtained while working in academia, Christian has also worked in the industrial sector, where he has gained experience in quality control, project development and project coordination.
