Ms. Peris Waweru, Junior consultant at Perspectives, holds a BSc. in Information Technology and an MSc. in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg, Germany. She has professional experience in activities relating to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, the transition from the Clean Development Mechanism and voluntary carbon markets as well as extensive involvement in the development of waste management policies and circular economy action plans.

At Perspectives, Peris manages projects that relate to the Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, Voluntary Carbon Markets, and energy access in Africa, in addition to providing support to national governments towards the achievement of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

Additionally, she has worked on projects related to nature-based solutions, low emission development strategies and developing carbon methodologies. She also supports both public and private sector actors in developing and setting ambitious climate goals. Peris actively engages with UN agencies, national government officials and other key stakeholders in conferences and workshops to influence how environmental policies are developed and implemented in Africa. She’s worked in various non-profit and non-governmental organizations in East Africa and Germany focused on sustainable development.
