The main objective of this assignment is the evaluation of various options how international carbon markets can support the acceleration of e-mobility in rural Western Kenya, and to provide clear and pragmatic recommendations how to optimally approach and benefit from carbon offsetting schemes.The outcomes of the study will support light electric mobility technologies like e-cargo bikes, e-bikes and e-outboard engines to develop sustainable business models and, in turn, enhance productivity within the target groups: women, farmers, fishermen and traders.
