EcoMicro III – Development of a green microinsurance scheme for climate adaptation
Delivered for Multilateral Investment Fund (FOMIN) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
The objective of the project was to improve the resilience to climate change of the clients portfolio of the Bolivian Financial Institution for Development (IDF)Sartawi through the development of a new micro insurance product. As the main part of the portfolio consisted of smallholder farmers, the green product has been developed for the agricultural sector.The project also aimed at (i) assessing the vulnerability of the clients portfolio, (ii) strengthening the existing tools for measuring and monitoring of the environmental performance of Sartawi’s clients portfolio and (iii) improving the management of the climatic risks associated to the clients portfolio.
