Preparation of a market study on the willingness to use and demand for adaptation benefits to support adaptation to climate change in Africa
Delivered for African Development Bank (AfDB).
The AfDB was seeking to undertake a market study that should enable to firstly raise awareness of stakeholders on the Adaptation Benefit Mechanism (ABM) as a means of contributing towards the adaptation goal of the Paris Agreement and / or fulfilling CSR or philanthropic mandates, and secondly to assess the demand for Adaptation Benefits (ABs) amongst stakeholders and particularly potential ABM off-takers.The objectives were to: 1) identify and understand key stakeholders’ perception of the ABM concept and the way to implement it, 2) derive recommendations on how to integrate stakeholders' feedback in the ABM design, and 3) define a roadmap for the implementation of the mechanism with a dedicated action plan.
