Perspectives Climate Research2024

Organic waste poses a serious environmental challenge in urban areas, often ending up in unsanitary landfills due to the lack of composting programs or sustainable waste management practices. Harnessing the transformational potential of Article 6, Perspectives Climate Research, in partnership with ICLEI Indonesia, has developed an Article 6 activity concept to process organic waste from traditional markets in a biogas facility, reducing methane emissions and producing green electricity. This concept is scalable across the country and offers a powerful opportunity to transform waste management, starting with traditional markets and expanding to hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and schools.
