Supporting GIZ with the development and application of a methodology for the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions and emission reductions associated to the Programme for Sustainable Energies in Senegal
Delivered for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The main objective of this project was to support the Programme for Sustainable Energies (PED) in the definition and the application of a methodology for calculating emissions and emission reductions of the Programme's activities that are supporting the development of solar energy and energy efficiency in the country. The assessment targetted direct and indirect impacts of the Programme and included an evaluation of life cycle emissions of solar PV plants financed by GIZ. Finally emissions related to the operation of GIZ PED staff in Senegal (office and travel emissions) were also evaluated.
